May 16, 2023. Tribal Board Meeting Wrap Up.
The Tribal Board Meeting opened with 45 minutes of comments from the Members.
The dispute continues regarding the Special Election for Unit One, the Election Committee, and the Rules for Special Elections. As a result of on-going disputes the Unit One Board Seat remains vacant at this time.
The board approved a resolution to purchase a parcel of land adjacent to the tribe’s burial grounds on Sugar Island. This purchase will allow an expansion of the burial grounds if needed.
