Black Hills Clean Water Alliance reported that due to the many actions taken by nine tribal governments, NDN Collective, BHCWA, Earthworks, all the attorneys, thousands of people who sent public comments, and everyone else involved -- the US Justice Department informed their attorneys that Pete Lien & Sons is withdrawing their permit for the graphite mining project at Pe' Sla.
This appears to be is a testament to the people, organizations, and tribal governments who showed unified action, determination, and courage in the face of what seemed to be overwhelming odds.
While this demonstrates Pete Lien & Sons respect for the Community it is possible that they or another company may apply with a new plan.
