The Supreme Court refuses to hear Sault Tribe’s Petition.

April 29 2025.

You win some you lose some, but that’s not the point. The point is that once again it’s the Legal Bloggers informing us first that the Sault Tribe’s Petition filed with the US Supreme Court to have the land owned by the tribe in Wayne County put into trust for a Casino was denied. That is where the frustration about our tribe starts with many tribal members.  All we want is to see our tribe succeed and spend our money on fights they can win instead of what many knew would be a a loser.  How much money was wasted on this case in legal fees? The truth is that most likely we will never know.

Unfortunately once again the board loses credibility with our members when they do not immediately issue a statement about this subject.

On the positive side the land our tribe owns in Wayne County is an asset and can be developed to generate income or to serve our members in that area. It can also be sold at a profit with funds used to cover the tribe's projected budget shortfalls in 2026.
