Sault Tribe Board Meeting May 19 in Marquette. Tribal Member’s Attention is needed.

May 14, 2026.       Video of all Board Meetings on May 19.

The Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians Board of Directors held a regular meeting May 19, 2026, beginning 5 p.m. at the Marquette Tribal Community Center in Marquette, Mich., in person or via Zoom, https://zoom.us/j/83640619761.

“Membership Participation” was held at 5 p.m. in person though virtual attendance was to be offered tribal members those that were registered to speak, however at least one person(me) that was registered to speak virtually coincidentally wanting to speak about the need for members to be able to vote on each change in the draft of the constitution separately was not allowed to speak even though I per-registered to speak two weeks earlier and received a confirmation email.  While it most likely was just an error on part of the person coordinating member participation it still looks sketchy.
