March 24, 2023. Bay Mills Indian Community; Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians: Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians:Little River Band of Ottawa Indians:Little Traverse Bay Bands of Odawa Indians have banned together to defend our treaties and fishing rights.
The United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit located in Cincinnati, Ohio is scheduled to hear the Oral Arguments on May 3 for Case No. 22-1946, v Michigan Fisheries Resources Conversation Coalitions.
It appears all parties are prepared to ask the U.S. Supreme Court to hear the case if the ruling does not support their filing.
