March 9, 2026.
The Sault Tribe Board of Directors Primary Ballots are due April 30.
We encourage you to read the draft of the constitution and ask questions about your Unit's Candidate's views on this documents before you vote. In our view it needs many edits to protect our rights.
Only the tribal members can stop them from removing our rights. If approved the new constitution will allow the Sault Tribe Board of Directors to dictate what Tribal Members will be able to learn about our money and their spending habits.
The new draft of the constitution is not what our Grandfathers and Grandmothers wanted for the next Seven Generations.

Please take this seriously if you ever want to make our tribe accountable to its members. They want to make serious edits to Article III Section 1 of the Bylaws. Review the Red-lined version of the draft for more information.
It is up to the members to stop the current constitution draft from moving forward or suffer the consequences for generations.
It appears to us those that drafted the new constitution used the tribal members' desire to have a three branch government as the meat of the sandwich of deception, believing we are that naive.
Will new board members address the needed changes in the constituion draft or will it take a tribal member(s) sueing the board to stop this document from moving forward? That is going to be up to the voters.
