The Sault Tribe of Chippewa Indians has launched a Venison Drive within Unit 1 of the service area.
The tribe is partnering with Maurer’s Little Meat Shop, a state-licensed meat processor in Sault Ste. Marie, Sault Tribe hunters can now donate deer to be processed and distributed free of charge to our Unit 1 Elders at their lunches.
Hunters interested in donating can schedule their drop-offs by calling Maurer’s Little Meat Shop at (248) 310-0122.
Once processed, the Tribe will handle pickup and distribution.
Tribal Elders should contact the Sault Tribe Elder Division of the tribe for more information about the distribution.
